Project Case Study
SFA Platting and Construction
The project scope for the campus replacement included new construction, improvements to the Bryan Civic Auditorium, and re-purposing of the existing Stephen F. Austin Middle School building into administrative offices. The project site is located along S. Ennis Street between E. Pease Street and E. 32nd Street. The existing Stephen F. Austin Middle School building was located on the northeastern portion of the tract. The Bryan Civic Auditorium was located at the southeast corner of the site.
Land Surveying – Gessner Engineering provided lot lines, lot dimensions, set back lines, a metes and bounds description, and existing easements. Once the platting process was complete, we filed additional exhibits to the city locating proposed easements. Our extensive research process uncovered that the site was already platted; therefore, existing streets were never abandoned on site. This information prevented the school from using valuable time and money to repeat the entire replatting process.
