Gessner Engineering provided the geotechnical investigation, structural design and construction materials testing services for this project. Additions to the existing church were designed to include a classroom wing, gym/multipurpose room and stand alone chapel. The church additions incorporated steel framing, wood truss systems and a pre-engineered metal building. The tower of the chapel included a cast-in-place concrete structure whose three sided base rises to cantilever over the interior and support the steel ridge. Testing services included qualification of subgrade and fill materials, testing of soils, and foundation placement monitoring and testing.
