Gessner Engineering provided geotechnical engineering services for the proposed building with a footprint of approximately 9,400 square feet. Subsurface conditions were evaluated by drilling five test bore holes to a depth of approximately 15 feet and two test bore holes to a depth of approximately 5 feet within the limits of the proposed building and associated parking area. Based on the field and laboratory data available at the time, along with our previous experience, Gessner Engineering recommended either a jointed slab supported on grade beams with isolated shallow footings or a stiffened slab-on-grade foundation system to support the proposed building.
