Gessner Engineering provided civil engineering services for the Hillel Foundation in College Station, Texas. Currently in construction, the project consists of a two-story student center building totaling approximately 11,075 square feet with sidewalks and associated parking. This project involved coordination with the City of College Station and local water and sanitary sewer service providers to ensure city design specifications and standards were being met. The civil design for this project included the grading and drainage for the entire 0.928 acre site, and design of service utility lines. The proposed building generated a slight increase in runoff creating drainage issues. Gessner Engineering formed an agreement with the city for a sheet flow design, whereas a more expensive detention design would have been required to hold the excess runoff.
