Gessner Engineering provided civil engineering services for the College Station ISD Transportation Center. The project consisted of the development of a 44 acre site in College Station, Texas. The transportation center facility includes parking for 130 full-size school buses and 242 standard-size cars, a fleet maintenance and school personnel training facility, a covered refueling station, and an automatic bus wash.
Civil engineering services for this project included approximately 1,750 linear feet of fire and domestic water pipe, over 1,100 linear feet of sanitary sewer pipe, channels, approximately 600 linear feet of large storm pipe to reroute existing creek drainage across the site, two detention ponds, site grading and paving design. Gessner Engineering used BIM techniques to model the existing and proposed topographic layout of the entire site to minimize conflicts and ensure cut-and-fill was balanced.
