Gessner Engineering provided geotechnical engineering services for the proposed construction of an office and warehouse building with a covered dock, maintenance building, associated parking and an access drive in Brenham, Texas. The office and warehouse building with a covered dock will have a footprint of approximately 19,190 square feet and the maintenance building will have a footprint of approximately 5,688 square feet. Subsurface conditions were evaluated by drilling seven test bore holes to a depth of approximately 30 feet within the proposed buildings; four test bore holes to a depth of approximately 15 feet within the proposed parking areas, and three test bore holes to a depth of approximately 6 feet within the limits of the proposed gravel yards. Based on the field and laboratory data available, along with our previous experience, a stiffened slab-on-grade foundation system supported on drilled piers was recommended by Gessner Engineering to support the proposed office, warehouse and maintenance buildings.
