Structural Design Team Leader

The Structural Engineer is responsible for project coordination, oversite of structural engineering projects, coordination of design teams, and client coordination of projects with clients and other disciplines both within the Gessner Engineering organization and beyond. This individual should be focused on adding value to the firm and projects by guiding design work to be efficient, meet high quality standards, and ensuring complete documentation. The engineer shall strive to consistently improve the end product and service while maintaining a cooperative and relaxed work environment.

Typical Duties:

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical aspects of projects
  • Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals
  • Budget monitoring and trend tracking
  • Participate in Client/Contractor meetings and resolve technical project issues
  • Ensure effective engineering and Client communications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Structural emphasis). Master degree is not required but is preferred
  • 5-8+ years of engineering experience in Structural design and consulting
  • Experience in various aspects of Structural engineering, including: Steel, Conventional and Post-tensioned Concrete, Masonry, and Wood Structures

Skills and Special Requirements:

  • Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas
  • Autodesk Revit and Risa experience a plus
